Alpha Lipoic Acid is unique antioxidant, because it is both water and fat soluble. It is one of the few molecules that can easily cross the blood brain barrier. ALA works in the brain to increase the production of Glutathione, which leads to removal of toxin. Unlike other antioxidant, ALA is recycled in the body, as well as supporting the preservation and regeneration of other antioxidants such as vitamin C and E. ALA may work in conjunction with other antioxidants to protect cells from ravages of free radicals within the body.

In relation to metabolism, ALA maintains normal carbohydrate metabolism. It increases the number of glut-4 transporter, which carries glucose from the blood stream through cell membranes into muscle cells. The more glucose in the muscle cells, the more energy can be produced during exercise. Thus, supplementing with ALA leads to better energy production cycle, which eventually leads to increased muscle gain.

Positive attitude and determination have really helped me. But it’s not only important to be positive and believe in yourself. You also have to do everything in your power to achieve your goals. That means not skipping a training session or an exercise because you are tired or that you have something more interesting to do. You need to be able to look back at the end of the day and know that you have done everything possible to attain your goal. » more
